The Guijon Family was a famous family of scholars from Autun in the second half of the 16th century. The four Guijon brothers whose works in Latin and French on very diverse subjects are gathered here were lawyers (Jacques, Jean and Hugues) and oratorien (André). There are mixed poems, legal articles (including the Remontrance on fulminatory sentences) or even a short article on the solar eclipse of 1605.
Their father Jean Guijon traveled to the East and brought back a New Testament handwritten in Greek written in the 11th century.
This is perhaps what attracted the attention of Alexandre Petau (1610-1672), who had assembled one of the most fabulous collections of pre-Carolingian lithurgical manuscripts of his century. This library of Petaviani manuscripts was purchased by Queen Christina of Sweden and is now part of the Vatican library.

Redouté celebrated throughout Europe as the "Raphael of the Flowers" held a very popular painting course at the beginning of the 19th century. Augustine Dufour was one of his brilliant students, and it is on the strength of Redouté's teaching that she wrote her Art of painting flowers.
The style affiliation is particularly stupefying on plate 23 of the "Rosier à cent feuilles".
In support of the very beautiful planks of flowers, Dufour explains to us in his introduction the technique of preparing the colors and the support as she practiced it (and which therefore was practiced in Redouté's workshop). We will thus provide ourselves with Conté pencils n ° 1 and n ° 3 and cochineal carmine bought at Supersac, rue Neuve-Saint-Jean!.

Monumental impression for the description of the Moulins bridge built from 1754 to 1762 under the direction of Louis de Règemortes, engineer of bridges and roads: Plans, sections, elevations and maps.
Note the impressive fifth plank measuring over 1.80m long representing the foundations of the bridge.
"The work that has illustrated his name is the construction of the Moulins bridge, for which several unsuccessful attempts had been made in the previous century. The success of the project drawn up by Louis de Règemorte is mainly due to the establishment of a general masonry base. , strongly defended against the action of water, with unsinkable longitudinal levees attached to the wedges, to prevent the disastrous effect of scouring and flooding which had brought the ruin of the works undertaken on the same point from 1679 to 1689. " Tarbé de Saint-Hardouin (Biographical notes on the engineers of the bridges and roads since the creation of the body, in 1716, until our days, Baudry, 1884)
The now "Pont Règemortes" still crosses the Allier more than 250 years more late proof of the success of the engineer.
