This play is a vaudeville written by Maurice Hennequin (1863-1926) and Félix Duquesnel (1832-1915).
This four-act comedy was performed for the first time at the Théâtre du Vaudeville, on October 23rd, 1907.
Maurice Hennequin, a well-known French playwright, has created a new and specific style of vaudeville called the "Hennequinade". Several of his plays were very successful, such as "The Ribadier System", written in collaboration with Georges Feydeau.

Edmond Rocher is a painter and poster designer whose work is typical of the art nouveau of the Belle Epoque, he exhibited in particular at the Salon des cent.
He offers here an "Illustrated Floral Monograph" his favorite theme. The cover announces 60 pen and ink compositions in the text to which is added the portrait of the artist and 1 lithograph out of text. Our copy peppered with a second lithograph (cropped signature).

Massenet sets the heroes of this spring of 1799 to music and leaves us the music sheets.
Jules Clarétie who writes the preface tells us: "[...] Among these books, I do not know, I repeat it, of more original than this one. It seems that all the arts wanted to fraternize in these pages and find themselves, under the same cover, like the heroes of Floréal under the same spring sky. ".
