Published at the city's expense, the work is composed of a calligraphic title, 20 engr. calligraphic explanation pp.,- an equestrian portrait of Louis XV and 11 etchings on double pages swarming with 1000 lively details (onlookers, dances, acrobats...). They depict the arrival and the procession of the king into the town, the Cardinal of Rohan's welcome in the front of the cathedral, the night festivities (fireworks on the Ill, illuminated buildings) and the day festivities (water jousting, games, dances and sword exercises). Some foxing or otherwise soiled, armorial binding (joint split, sides and corners rubbed...).

Labyrinth of hornbeams opening onto squares decorated with fountains whose lead subjects were multicolored.
Each fountain was inspired by Aesop's Fables.
The work reveals in 41 engravings, the plan of the labyrinth and each of the fountains with for each, the verses and the morals which had inspired them.

This book deals with the rules of several unknown games today including the famous Trictrac.
Trictrac is a two-player reasoned game that is played with dice on a deck similar to backgammon. It belongs to the family of table games.
It was very popular in France in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, at the court of Versailles and in aristocratic circles. It experienced a renaissance during the Restoration before almost disappearing in the late nineteenth century. It is part of reasoned games of chance such as backgammon which was known in France under the name all tables or backgammon.

An unusual work whose author will remain in the shadows, under the scatological aspect it seems to have been written as a snub to Marmontel's "Poetics". Marmontel, as our petomane recalls, declared that it is not necessary for a thing to be beautiful in nature for it to be beautiful in poetry and that coarseness or finesse lies in the treatment of the subject rather than in the subject itself. Marmontel, by instituting the "moral tale" and rejecting the comic, had given rise to a wave of "immoral tales" in which this God of the winds participates.
