Rare set of Buchoz brochures under a common title published by Desoer in Belgium concerning Tobacco, Coffee, Cocoa and Tea:
- Dissertation sur le Tabac, et sur ses bons & mauvais effets, 1787
- Dissertation sur le Café, sa culture, ses différentes préparations, & ses propriétés, tant alimentaires, que médicinales, 1787.
- Dissertation sur le Cacao, sur sa culture, et sur les différentes préparations de Chocolat, 1787.
- Dissertation sur le Thé, sur sa récolte, et sur les bons & mauvais effets de son infusion, 1787.

Apart from the botanical considerations which were Buchoz's specialty, we find there all kinds of recipes for the preparation of chocolate or flavored tobacco. There is also the recipe for "Buc'hoz water", maceration of tobacco leaves in white wine that the author proposes to use as an antiseptic.

Continuation of the "Choice of the best medicines for the most desperate diseases", a work published the previous year. Pierre-Joseph Buc'hoz was a botanist, member of the Royal College of Medicine of Nancy and of many academies. From 1776 and until at least 1800, he self-published, distributing his prolific editorial production to his successive Parisian homes.

Rare plaquette printed in Bordeaux of this dissertation of Boissier de Sauvages (1706-1767) "who won the prize in the judgment of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Sciences & Arts of Bordeaux".

The author who was a doctor and naturalist at the faculty of Montpellier, questions the mode of action and the diffusion of drugs in the human body. What pharmacists today would call pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics.
