From a follower of the Boucicaut Master.
The painter uses an extensive palette with sharp contrasts, and does not hesitate to use a bright minium red that he contrasts with the blues and greens in the happiest of ways.
The abstract backgrounds and the systematic use of a grassy ground, give to the whole manuscript a beautiful coherence and a great elegance.
Some of the preserved paintings, such as those of the Annunciation to the Shepherds, the Crucifixion, and St. Margaret, bear witness to the artist's talent and the high quality of this manuscript.
It should be noted that the composition of the The Flight into Egypt is closely mirrors of a Boucicaut composition.

First edition.
Work emanating from the Sacred Congregation of Rites, organ of the Roman curia in charge of beatification and canonization procedures.
The object is to study the cases of miracles with a view to the beatification and sanctification of Camille de Lellis (1550-1614). He was the founder of the Camillian order and considered the patron saint of caregivers and nurses.
One of the parts bears the stamp of Johannes Prunettus, in his role as promoter of the faith. The promoter of the faith must have a critical eye in the instruction of the canonization file.
Binding with the arms of Benedict XIV (Prospero Lambertini), pope from 1740 to 1758 who will canonize Camille de Lellis in 1746.

Antoine Fusy, Jesuit and professor at the Sorbonne is at the beginning of the 17th century in breach of ban with his order. The Jesuit preachers indeed defended the merits of tyrannicide, which was an undisguised threat to the King of France who protected the Protestants of the kingdom.
While Henri IV was assassinated by a Catholic fanatic, Fusy went into exile in Geneva in 1619 and converted to Protestantism.
He wrote there this very violent pamphlet towards the Roman Church, whose style is sometimes quite raw.

First edition of the new translation from an unpublished manuscript of 1440 by Abbot Henri Delaunay who was a great collector of manuscripts and editions of this famous text of Christian piety.
Our exceptional copy printed on green tinted laid paper. No such print was identified for this publication. Vicar [IV, 494] reports 500 ex. tinted for the 1875 imitation edition from Curmer, but not for this one.
The printing was carried out by the printing house "Jouaust et fils" and this book coming from a library owned by the descendants of the Jouaust family, we are tempted to suggest that it would be a copy that the printers had intended. This would also explain the absence of engravings, printed by another workshop.

Revision of the Geneva Bible which was carried out at the request of the Walloon Protestant Churches while David Martin, originally from the southwest of France, was in exile following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
What will become the Martin Bible will be published for the first time in 1707 in Utrecht and will serve as the basis for the revision of Ostervald.
"From the 19th century, Bible societies located in France, Switzerland, England and America will help spread Martin's Bible widely throughout the world. Martin's version is carefully crafted, and his notes have far exceeded those by Desmarets (which had been in vogue for a long time). Many readers (including Adolphe Monod) preferred the version of "Martin" to that of Ostervald. In "Martin" there was strength, simplicity, more flavor and energy. Other readers (Encontre for example) find it more consistent with the originals and better matched with the English, Dutch and German versions, the styling is superior "(lauragais - patrimoine . fr)

This book deals with the criticsm of the absolute monarchy in France.
The Catholics denounced this subversive book, well received in moderate circles.
