Jean-Baptiste Biot (1774-1862) was a French physicist, astronomer and mathematician who pioneered the use of polarized light for the study of solutions. He was a member of the National Institute of France, professor at the College de France, the Turin Academy and the Philomatic Society of Paris.
This book is composed of four books, whose subjects are: General phenomena and means of observation, the theory of the Sun, the theory of the Moon and the theory of planets, comets and satellites.
