First edition of Collin de Plancy's famous work, which presents itself as an encyclopedia of superstitions, demonology, occult sciences and all popular beliefs related to the devil and magic.
The work is both erudite and tinged with irony, typical of the rationalist tone of the 19th century.
Our copy, complete with the two allegorical frontispieces by Delignon, one representing a sabbath, the other represents Superstition.
