Albert Kammerer (1876-1960), Doctor of Science and engineer, was a specialist in mechanics. His work Les Propriétés Mécaniques des Solides Réels et la Théorie de l'Élasticité (The Mechanical Properties of Real Solids and the Theory of Elasticity), prefaced by Henri Béghin, is a treatise on the strength of materials. It addresses continuum mechanics with a focus on real solids and their elastic deformations. Published with the support of the C.N.R.S., it is part of the "Actualités Scientifiques et Industrielles" collection, which aimed to disseminate research advances.
