Created on the Champ de Mars at the foot of its tower, Gustave Eiffel's aerodynamics laboratory was moved to Auteuil in 1912. It is still in operation today, operated by the company Aérodynamique Eiffel. This aerodynamics laboratory was used in particular to test the characteristics of the Farman military biplanes that were used during the First World War.
