Folio (352x256 mm), (6)-152 pages.
First edition. Report of the chronometric expedition between the observatories of Poulkova (St Petersburg) and Altona (Hamburg) carried out in 1843. It involved making chronometers travel between these two points in order to compare the relative times and thus set the finer the distance in longitudes separating the two observatories. This data will serve as a basis for astronomical calculations. 81 chronometers (including some offered by Breguet) traveled from Russia.
