Jean Pillement (1719 - 1808) was one of Marie-Antoinette's painters for the Petit Trianon. Master ornamentalist of the eighteenth century he produced a quantity of lacquers, borderies, panels, bronzes, silks and prints typical of the Rococo style of the time.
"His extremely graceful compositions are still of great use to painters, decorators and designers who can apply without transposition the elements of natural flowers or fantasies which we give below the reproduction". (extract from the notice)
