Working document that cuts across two of Arthur Chervin's areas of expertise: statistics and stuttering.
Son of Claudius Chervin (1824-1896), a pioneer in the treatment of stuttering and founder of the Institute for stuttering in Paris, which he headed from 1878. Arthur Chervin is also passionate about anthropology and statistics. He will be president of the Anthropological Society (1901) and of the Statistical Society (1904).

This collection brings together stuttering statistics, department by department over the period 1850-1900.
For each department a hand-drawn graph page on heavy paper faces a typed page of comments.
These statistics were followed by the Chervin family, Chervin ainé compiles this type of data in a book published in 1878 "Statistics Of Bégaiement In France". Here we therefore have the continuation of these raw data updated until 1900.
