Victor Cousin was professor of philosophy at the Sorbonne, close to Hegel, he remains famous in the history of French philosophy for having converted it to German idealism. The works of Plato are precisely one of the main sources of idealism and Cousin's translation into French remains a reference still published.
Edited continuously over many years, our copy is in a motley way composed of several years of edition but complete of all the text.
