Johann David Michaélis (1717-1791) is a German scholar and professor, renowned for his work and research at the University of Halle.
His specialties are Eastern civilizations and languages, Hebrew civilization, Philosophy, History, Literature, Geography and Natural Sciences. In particular, he was associated with the great German spirits of his time as Auguste Schlegel (scholar and forerunner of the Romantic movement).
With this collection of articles devoted to the Arab civilization, he exposes a diversity of knowledge and interests on a multitude of domains such as Architecture, Linguistics, Morals, etc ...

Very good second edition in French. This book retraces a brief state of knowledge on the Arab world, presented to the court of the King of Denmark.
