First edition. In addition to a busy career in the administration of the Navy, Daniel Lescallier (17443-1822) wrote several works devoted to the navy. This practical treatise by Lescallier is abundantly illustrated with plates, some of which come from his Marine dictionary. This work is today a reference for knowledge of the rigging of 18th century vessels.
