First Edition.
A French woman of letters and little-known writer, Antoinette Deshoulières frequented the salon of Mademoiselle de Scudéry.
She was nicknamed the "Tenth Muse" by her contemporaries.
She was the first French woman to be a member of the Academy. So, of course, we're not talking about the Académie Française (which nevertheless read one of her poems in a session in 1690), but the Académie des Ricovrat.
This copy is bound in fine Jansenist full morocco by Chambolle-Duru.

Copy in a fine morocco binding from Chambolle-Duru.

provenance: Ernest Desnos (1852-1925) with ex-libris.

Price : 450 €
