Silvestre François Lacroix (1765-1843) was a French mathematician, known for his teaching manuals that influenced mathematics education in France. He is the author of a collection of works on calculus and geometry. This work is a supplement to his algebra textbook, intended for students in central schools. It complements the concepts covered in his main book.
