Two books bound in one 12mo (169x104 mm), (12)-403-(41) pages / (12)-154 pages.  binding : Contemporary full sheep, spine gilt in five compartments, title in gilt on lettering-piece, sprinkled edges. A waterstain on the upper right corner of pages, on all volume. A very minor worm's work in margin of pages 399 to 403 of the first volume. Caps and corners chipped. Upper joint splitting in its lower part but solid.

I. De Humana Physiognomona libri IV.
Most complete edition of this work in which Porta analyzes the different facial features, and draws conclusions as to the character.
II. Physiognomoniae Coelestis Libri Sex. is a rare work of Porta, a disciple of Arnaud de Villeneuve and Cardan.
It is a treatise on astrology, which studies the influence of stars on the morphology and human temperaments.
